BX1500 MMM up/down problem

Hello all. I am new here.

I just bought a 2004 (new to me) BX1500 with a 48" MMM. I am having trouble raising and lowering the mowing deck. It seems to go up and down unevenly. In other words, the right side of the MMM (near the grass chute) raises higher and goes down lower than the left side of the MMM. Why isn't it staying level when raised and lowered? Thanks.

I also have a bx1500 and have noticed something similar. The mower deck works off of the same linkage as the 3 point hitch. The linkage that connects the two runs under the right rear fender. When I got my tractor, I stood next to it and raised and lowered the 3pt just so I could see how it worked.

The two lift links of the mower deck are connected by a shaft that has a little play in it. The play in the shaft causes my deck to raise and lower a little unevenly, however my deck is level when it is all the way down.
