BX backhoe

A BX backhoe, foolish?

A lot YOU know!

I have spent a few thousand dollars making an adaptor to mount my L35 hoe on my BX so I don't have to wear out my L35.

Unfortunately, I forgot to take one thing into account. Weight.

When I put the outriggers down and try to operate the hoe, the BX lifts off the ground a couple of feet and swings around like a dogs tail. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

Foolish? No...maybe it doesn't work, BUT it Looks COOOOOL! /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

Re: BX backhoe

Jon our dealer has sold several BX2200's, including one to us.He says that he does'nt even order the BX1800's because there is just a few 100 bucks diff. in the cost. If you decide upon a BX,I would highly recommend the 2200.Good luck,we all know this is a tough decision.

Re: BX backhoe

Price difference between the BX1800 and 2200 is anything from $450 to $750 depending on the dealer. My thoughts when I bought my BX1800 was is 3 pto hp worth $600 of my hard earned cash.... I can use that money for an attachment. I wouldn't worry about power for blowing snow, I use a 17 hp twin cylinder gas tractor with a 48" 2 stage blower with no problems, I'm sure either the 18 or 22 will power the front mounted blower wich is only (If I remember) 6" wider. Myself I'm thinking about getting rid of the gas tractor and buying a small 3 pt blower for the BX1800.

Re: BX backhoe

Point well taken, our dealer was quoting "his cost" at only $300. diff. I did'nt realize that retail was that big a spread.

Re: BX backhoe

I would never opt for less hp at any reasonable (to me) price as the 2200 and the 1800 both use BS hp ratings, like Chevy does. The Chevy dealers love to tell you all about the smaller V8's and how much hp they have, yeah, they have a little more, at a huge rpm increase, and if the torque curve isn't better it's all crap. Same with the BX. ADVERTISING The ratings of the BX's are at a substantial rpm gain. I hate to hear an engine whine, and the 2200 can put out the lesser hp of the 1800 at a lower rpm, with the option of running the rpm's up if necessary. They should really being using torque specs. Diesels are almost always much higher and it's the torque and the displacement that really does the pushin' I have a garden tractor with about the same hp as an BX1800, which would pull my pickup around with the least strain? HP is what sells. I wonder how my 230 hp Toyota would pull the weight that my 245hp 460 Ford Motorhome is pulling?

The only drawback to higher hp in these tractors (I think) is the risk. I always want more hp in my L35 but if I had more I'd probably pull myself over trying to move something too big /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

With these baby tractors I think a lot of people are surprised (I was!) to find out they can actually be used for their intended purpose (loader work etc).

If I could get the L48's backhoe, weight and loader lift in my L35's size I'd probably go for it. The increased width and length increases the safety factor though. As many on this board have said, hardly ever does one complain about more power later.

Re: BX backhoe

Del -

You had me rolling on the floor with your L35 backhoe on a BX story. More of a back-tractor on your hoe I guess. Still think how easy it would be to load the tractor into your pickup bed ? I still want to see pictures of than one.

I was wondering, I put a post for a tractor that I bought instead of a Kubota because of price and what country it is from that is missing. Did I do something wrong? I don't mean to upset anybody, I realy like this forum.

Is your message gone completely, or did it just get moved somewhere, like possibly to "Other Brands"? You should be able to go to your profile and click down at the bottom to see all of your posts and see if it's still there somewhere.

How do I get to my profile? I know it is not in edit profile and I can't find it any where else. This happened one other time also, maybe I am doing something wrong, I know I am not the only enthusiatic person talking about there tractor and why the picked it.

If you just want to see your profile, click anywhere you see WillingtonPizza.

I checked the list of all your posts and didn't see the one you're talking about. That doesn't mean it isn't there -- just means I didn't see it. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Are you sure you posted it? A couple of times I got as far as the preview and then forgot to hit Continue before I went on to something else. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

I doubt very seriously that you've been censored. You'd have to commit a pretty serious sin for that to happen.
