Just took delivery of my new BX22 this morning and several asked for photos of the 46" Toothbar (detachable) that I ordered with it. Figured I'd get photos of it before I went out and got it dirty <g>. Cost? About $ 300.00 from Byrd Tractor in Manassas, VA. Leave it on all the time except for fine grooming with the bucket and snow removal.

Wow, that is one mean lookin' diggin' machine. Thanx for the pic. I will add that to my long list of 'must have' toys.

When you finally get a chance to use it, please let us know how well it works. My land has alot of shale in the soil and I believe that attachment would be the answer. Again thanx.....

you will love the added digging capabilities of your fel with the toothbar. makes a big difference when doing certain jobs, but what we need to see now is some dirt and mud in that bucket!/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

I asked my dealer about a toothbar, and the salesman said i would have to have a heavy duty bucket. Is your bucket a standard?

Yep, it's a standard bucket with two holes drilled in it for the toothbar to detach. Byrd Tractor is one of the largest Kubota dealers in the U.S. (if not the largest) and they assured me there were no issues with mounting the toothbar on the bucket. I've used it about 4 hours already, and can tell you that the teeth make a huge difference. I can pick up and 'flip' 200 - 300 lb large rocks with the teeth, and it cuts the VA Clay and old tree roots like nobody's business. The limiting factor I am seeing right now is tires. I ordered by BX22's with Turf Tires and in the areas of the woods that I am digging, the tires load up and become slicks...then spin. The tractor has plenty of power, and the toothed loader is willing, but the traction is not there, even if 4WD and with the diff locked. Calcium - Loaded Bar Tires would fix that I think...I will probably order a set of extra tire and wheels to have for that reason.

Oh yeah, I have newfound respect for backhoe operators. That is tricky to do neat and cleanly !

Nice looking machine. Can your BX22 mow with the MMM with both the FEL & BH attached?

Can it mow? Yes, it's capable of doing so but it's real cumbersome on that configuration. I'll be detaching the backhoe and loader for mowing. Not only is the tractor weight cut almost in half with those implements off (better for the turf) but you stand a high chance of hitting something with the loader as you mow. They detach so quickly that removing them both is less than 10 minutes.

Do you know the brand of that tooth bar? W.R. Long?
