Having been is sales for a lot of years I learned that a quick phone call to the customer on a daily, or at least twice a week basis, when something is delayed goes a long way toward keeping customers happy.

I may not have been able to let them know when their "stuff" would arrive but at least they knew I was aware of the problem and trying to stay on top of it. Sure saved me a lot of grief and kept my cstomers coming back to me instead of going to the guy up the street.

Nobody like to feel that they are being ignored.

hurray! the orange baby is back. got the tractor back thursday 8/4. quick go over as that night showed the following repairs under warranty. the tractor went in with the 3PH and 5 ft rake on it.

air filter strap replaced

front axle seal fixed

speed/nuetral lever adjusted not to stick

nuetral safety switch cleaned up ( connectors corroded)

a NEW seat - glad to see this but didn't expect it, original seat was pretty flattened out. Nice surprise

I was quoted $150 for a new FEL blade edge, plus $150 labor to burn it on. - passed on it for now but need to do something as the bucket is pretty flexable now ( metal stress ? )

doesn't appear that the MMM adjustment knob or the 3PH speed control were fixed - any suggestions other than a pair of vice grips??

3PH lever seems to have been adjusted to make it return somewhat after you put it in the up position. will look at which direction they moved the nut and backing nut to see if it provides any clues as to how to adjust further.

The guy unloading it was on his second day on the job so I didn't jump on him at all when he gave me the delivery bill for $142.37. ( not his job anyway) He was cool , called the shop and told the dispatcher that the owner had quoted a $50.00 fee. She checked w/ the owner and he said he forgot, but made it right.
Over all I'm somewhat displeased, but happy about the repairs that where made. 1 to 10 would give them a 4. communication was a major problem.
After 24 months of maintaining and doing all the scheduled service myself. I guess its better to do what you can yourself. I would be hard pressed to send my tractor back to this dealer. I won't name the dealer.

well he had to board up the shop after he lost all that money.

junkman you should get a life. don't bother responding to any future post I may make , you opinion is not wanted.

The world would be a better place with less smart asses.

I would call the owner and tell him about the quality of the work performed and that it wasn't up to your expectations since it has been returned with some of the same problems that it went there with. Suggest that he send the mechanic to your home to complete the repairs at his expense. How he handles this request will determine if you want to continue to deal with him. If you don't complain, he will never know about the problem. Give him the chance to make it right. If he sticks his head in the sand, then he deserves to get the bad reputation that he will justly deserve. Junk......

Copperhead you 3pt hyd lever is easy to adjust. had to do mine the 2nd day i had the tractor. there are two springs, the rear spring helps it return back to neutral when you raise the 3pt and the front spring returns it back from lowering it.

The 3ph/MMM lift adj is easy to adj. as ericbx1500 indicated. Just adj each spring's tension until it responds like you want.

The 3ph lowering speed dial has either gotten some debris or water down in the shaft where it has rusted or jammed it too tight to turn. I've read where some have sprayed the shaft where it goes into the HST collar very liberally w/PB Blaster, let it soak overnight, then was able to work it loose the next day.

Course you could try to get the dealer to fix them as has been suggested.

Good luck

thanks will try the pb blaster, also will look at the adjustments for the 3PH. Any ideas as to adding a stiffener to the bucket?
I was thinking of having a bar welded under the bucket from edge to edge behind the weld for the cutting edge. what would be a good thickness and width for the new plate? Is this the best location?

You can purchase the cutting edge from www.tractorsmart.com and take it to a local welding shop and they will weld it on for you inexpensively. Who knows, there might even be another TBN member that lives near you that will do it for a case of brew. Ask around town who does welding. It isn't that hard of a job. The part # is 75532-59320 and cost $110.45 plus shipping. If you own a hand grinder, you can save some time and money if you grind off the old welds in advance. Or take the bucket to a welding shop and they can make the new cutting edge and install it. The reason the dealers quote was so expensive is they didn't want the job.
