Mine is broken too. Can someone please post a pic of a bungee solution. Thanks

I own a BX23 since new. The lower bracket broke with about 10 hours on the tractor. The replacement part didn't look any different than the original. At just over 300 hours the upper portion, that clamps the filter housing broke. This part cost me about $20, out of warranty.

I've concluded that the lifespan of this assembly is directly related to the amount of time the tractor idles. The bracket shakes itself to distruction. I try to make a point of turning the tractor off, instead of letting it idle for any length of time.

Has any one looked at it while you are running it? (I haven't)
I wonder if there is a engine speed harmonic/ vibration point to avoid?

I have a BX 23, and have had no breakage issues yet. But
1* I never set the throttle low enough so that the engine shakes violently, which seems to only happen at low RPM...
1*after it warms up some my BX23 runs just as smooth at idle as it does reved up.
As LBrown suggested, my bracket broke two years ago and I replaced it with two heavy duty wire ties...they are still holding strong. If they break, I'll just replace them with another set of $.89 ties. I thought that the bracket Kubota came up with was way over engineered and far more expensive to replace than I was willing to pay. Dyer, retired
Fab a strap/bracket out of an old leather belt may work too.
yes as mentioned a while ago. i too welded it a couple of times. then i put two large hose clamps on it. problem solved. hope this helps
That will work.
Mine on the BX2200 is broken. The mass of the filter housing is so very low that I came to the conclusion that the bracket was likely breaking itself. What I mean is...if one simply put the bracket on with no filter housing in it,
* it would break all by itself, due to it's own weight being rocked violently back and forth.
*To help with this I used rubber fender washers between all metal contacts before bolting the new replacement bracket on.
This was to give it some flex much as engine motor mounts allow on an engine.
I also installed a spring on the strap bolt to allow some freedome of movement at that point rather that the points where the orignal bracket had broken.
The idea was to transfer any movement to places where ther was some degree of freedome to move thus taking the stress of movement off the bracket or at least greatly reducing such stress.
The idea must have worked as that was done about 3 years ago and no problem since.
I had my BX2200 for five years until I sold it yesterday after replacing it with a BX2660 and the bracket broke while I was prepping it for delivery. Like a previous poster,
*I rarely ran it at low RPM where all the shaking occurs.
*There is noshaking / vibration at any speed on my BX23 .
I broke mine several times before i modifyed it,and its held ever since. The problem is half the aircleaner is hooked solid to the tractor[intake] and the other is on a vibrating motor-
*stupid design.
If you look at my pic ,i welded up a simple iron assembly. One end hooks to a front bolt that holds the cowling on,the other end ,to the rear bolt that holds it on .The airfilter,is bolted solid to it ,so its not attached to the engine. You can whip up this easily in an hour, with no drilling or nothing on the tractor.Problem will be solved forever.

*Sure is.
*The new BX air filter brackets are much stronger,I have replaced several on BX tractors
*If they are better and stronger why have you had to replace so many of them ?
*
*I am on my second one for my BX23, but mine is a 2004 model.
*I replaced mine on the 2004 BX23 about 3 years ago with some mods as i stated above.
*I've concluded that the lifespan of this assembly is directly related to the amount of time the tractor idles. The bracket shakes itself to distruction. I try to make a point of turning the tractor off, instead of letting it idle for any length of time.
*I think it's due more to being to ridgedly mounted to a movable object than it is a problem of vibration.
Has any one looked at it while you are running it? (I haven't)
*I wonder if there is an engine speed harmonic/ vibration point to avoid?

*I doubt it.

All it takes is to lift the engine cover while operationg the tractor. The engine shake is hardly noticable at any speed, but at harmonic peaks, the air filter housing becomes a blur. First harmonic is at idle. There is another at about quarter speed that is not as pronounced. Each harmonic after that is hardly noticable. I try not to run the engine below about third throttle.

Has anyone else seen this effect?
