I removed mine about a week ago and tried to reattach it over the weekend. I couldn't get the hydraulic lines reattached. It seems like there is too much pressure in the backhoe lines and I can't get the quick couplers to "click".

What is the easiest way to relieve some of the pressure?

This has also happened to me in the past. Now I always make sure to move the backhoe controls around after turning off the tractor to relieve the pressure. The last time this happened I took a hammer and tapped the plunger in the center of the conector to relieve the pressure. You might need to use a metal punch to tap it. Make sure you wear protective clothing, work gloves and eye protection because the fluid is under a lot of pressure.

Thanks. I'll give that a try tonight and see if it works.

Did it work? I always let the pressure out by moving the joysticks in all directions when I unhook it. I've never had the problem you experienced.

It worked like a charm. I thought I had moved the joysticks in all directions, but maybe not. My other thought was that it was 40 degrees hotter when I tried to reconnect and maybe that had some effect on the pressure?

That will do it. As it gets hotter the fluid expands ever so slightly, since the volume inside the hoses & cylinders is fixed, this causes the pressure to increase.

I've had it happen when I left the FEL out in the sun for the afternoon.
