I am just guessing but I would say your bucket would drop like a rock. It could be unsafe if you wern't expecting it or someone was close to you. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif David

The bucket lowers at about the same speed as if you lowered it without putting it in float. I'll check with the dealer to see if he has any insight. I don't make a habit of dumping it in float, but when I'm using it to backblade I'll pick it up to move forward or to the side and then just dump it into float and start backing. If the dealer says that's a bad practice I'll post it here...

Trust me it's not a problem to drop it in float, if the bucket is empty. Says that because it will drop faster with a loaded bucket because the added weight equals increased pressure in the cylinders and this increases velocity across the ports in the valve and thus the quicker the fluid vacates the cylinders the faster the bucket comes down. I can't think why anyone would want to free fall their loaded bucket! Many things in manuals these days go to extremes, assumming everyone is an idiot (alot of us are /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) in order to cover their a-- legally. Common sense, small steps before big steps, and TBN will take you far.
