I was bushhogging a field the yesterday and didn't bother to take off the MMM. Can anyone with a BX22 and 60" MMM tell me how close the rear of the MMM is to the rear wheels when raised up? Mine looks really close. It maybe has an 1 1/2" before the rear tire would hit the MMM. While bushhogging the right side of the MMM came undone from the slide pin somehow and I had to jack the MMM up to reconnect it. This happened twice. Next time I'm just going to take the MMM off. Thanks.

The rear wheels are very close, so I don't think you have a problem there. Taking the MMM off when you are bushogging is probably best. You might want to try putting the MMM at the top position, it seems to be more stable there.

I had the exact same thing happen last weekend. Was running the 4ft rotary cutter on my BX2200 and the MMM fell on the right side. When I got under there to look at the right side pin, I noticed that the bracket that holds the pin had broken. The weld on the bottom of the bracket broke free and allowed the entire pin and bracket to bend and the MMM to fall. I was able to bend it back into shape enough to get the MMM reattached and moved back to the garage. Took the broken part to the Kubota dealer and will have a new one by Friday. Just to be save, check those welds. This was the second time the deck had come unhooked. Maybe I didn't pick up on the cracked weld the first time. Also, make sure the pins get pushed all the way thru to the second hole on the lift arm.

I have a BX22 w/ 60" MMM and bar tires. The MMM hits the rear tire on the right side when the deck is raised all the way up. My dealer told me during my orientation that this happens with the bar tires and that I should always lower the deck in the up position to leave enough clearance so the tire doesn't hit the deck.

I would be concerned that the MMM is not properly setup/adjusted. Like Manganos, I have about 1 to 1.5 inches of clearance to the bar tires when the MMM is fully up. There are a number of adjustments for the MMM. Find a flat paved area and check the setup per the owners manual.

I have also found that the rear spring loaded pins, that attach to the lift arms, slowly work their way out. I always check them before mowing and push them in, bottoming them out, if they have worked their way out at all.

One other thing I found is that the MMM is happier when not in use if I raise it, set the height to "UP" and lower it down to the fixed stop. If I do other tasks with the MMM fully up, when the tractor hits ruts, etc, the MMM bounces up against the frame and floorpan.

Thanks everyone. I do have the bar tires. I'm also going to check the weld to make sure that it isn't cracked or broke. Thanks again!

I am considering the purchase of a B2200 and am concerned to hear that there may not be adequate clearance between the MMM in the UP position and the bar tread tires. What is the experience out there?

thanks,

When the MMM deck is full up there is not a lot of clearence--this is normal. When the stow position is selected there is sufficient clearence for normal operation with the bar or turf tires. My new 2410 is the same way--not a lot of room there. These are among the reasons Kubota and others recommend removal of the MMM for rough operations--it is a snap to do. This condition is similar on other brands of tractors I have looked at thus I have concluded it to be a normal condition. I would not get worked up over this, it is a non issue. By the way, I got a BX too so I know this to be true. J

I wouldn't let this stop you from buying one. I went back to the dealer just to check and sure enough the BX22 on the lot was the same way. I haven't taken off the MMM yet but if it is anything like the FEL or BH it should be a snap!
