That's a lot of RPMs for a diesel...

My Jetta TDI is rated at 90 HP out of 1,900 CC and the redline is at 4600. It doesn't sound like a lot of HP nowadays, but the diesel torque makes it a lot of fun to drive.

I don't know about the new "secret" diesel that may be in the works but diesel engineering has dramatically changed in the past few years. Like the man says, small can be powerfull--love my TDI, too. Can't wait until my warranty runs out so I can put in a new brain and increase the HP to 100. How come they don't use the same technology on the Kubota?

I'm not sure, but I remember seeing a couple of posts on turbo-charging tractors. At least one regular poster has a signature that says "Turbo 4100".

Oh yeah, besides the torque, I just love going to the station and filling up - generally around 12.5 gallons and 650 miles.

I'am not sure the BX needs anymore power (okay, maybe 10hp more). I keep having to really think about when the last time I fueled it up.

And to add, I like cruising at 80mph in my TDI and still getting 50mpg!

That members Turbo4100 is meant as an innocent joke. His tractor really is not turbocharged, heck right now his wife will not let him get a MMM much less a turbocharger!!! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif , at least I think it is a joke /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif .
