BX22
I was using my BX22 today & it got stuck in low range & I can't get it out. I tried pressing on the brake for several seconds, like the Manual says, but that didn't work. So, of course, when I shut it off, I cannot start it again while it is in gear.
I only have 39 hours on the machine.
Guess I'll call the dealer tomorrow 1st thing.
Grrr.

I assume it's a hydro...you might try pressing the hydro forward or reverse a bit to spin the gears some and remove the tension on them (if that's the problem). Gentle with the shifting lever, some of the posts here have stated that they have broken the shifter fork inside the tranny. Good luck and glad it's still on warranty.

Good suggestions! The shift lever does seem to get "stuck" from time to time on my BX2200 but moving very slowly (usually in reverse) has cured it for me.

Of course, with the tractor off you're kinda screwed! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Happened to me once.
Have a buddy come over and rock the machine back and forth
while trying to shift. I'm sure if you looked around you'll find the no start
switch and bypass it.

Based on mine and others experience, it is simple to fix. The linkage gets a bit balky (especially if new). Hit the linkage on the right side of the trans, under the seat, behing the wheel, with some WD40 or equiv. My '22 was oftern hard to get in and out of both ranges. After a bit of lube, smooth as silk.

Try it, it's a cheap and quick fix.

Thanx for all the quick replies. I had already tried rocking it, running in reverse, moving forward & then back, but it wouldn't budge. I did get the service manager 1st thing this AM & he echoed techman - - spray the linkage with penetrating oil [I used liquid wrench] & it should go. I also pulled the seat out of the way & got my spare hand in there to help move the linkage. It works fine now - - & it was simiple. Thank goodness.
Gotta comment though, that linkage sure does look fragile. I know they warn you not to force it.
