I seem to have a major issue.
The tapered hole on the outer gear case that the outer tie rod bolts thru is worn and elongated causing excessive play. has anyone seen this issue and is there a more economical way to repair this without replacing both outer gear cases ?

Best suggestion, without replacing the outer gear cases is to find a competent welder, and have them fill the holes in with a welder. Then drill new ones. It will at least get you by. Not sure how it would hold up over time.

Thanks Diesel, welding is the easy part, (have mig, tig, and master welders to help) the tapered hole for the tie rod seems tougher. not sure if I have one for the Bridgeport.

Quick update on the repair, total investment $26.00.
Just need to shorten the bolts, wanted a shoulder through the inner gear case. will see how it holds up.
Thanks for the help and advice.
