BX22 Won\'t Reverse

Had the 50 hour service completed on my BX22 yesterday, used the tractor for about 10 minutes after it was completed. Started it up today and can't get in to reverse. Feels a bit like the speed control pedal may have slipped a bit but forward works fine. I've left a message for the dealer that completed the service-- good news is the person that did the upgrade left their set of keys in the tractor so they have to return tomorrow anyway. Tried a few searches but didn't find any similar issues in the archives but thought I'd post anyway to see if others have had this problem?

If your HST pedal has slipped then that is the problem, and is fortunately very easy to fix and won't cause any lasting damage. Either the linkage has simply slipped (one thing they are supposed to do at the 50 hour service is to lube it - although I'm not sure that should cause slippage) or it has been bent, lost a pin, or something along those lines.

You might consider looking at the linkage yourself to see if it is a simple loose bolt (or is it a cotter pin? can't remember off the top of my head - the Kubota does it one way, the JD another). But if they're coming back anyway (and they'd have to since they caused the problem) it might be easier to have them fix it.

Dealer just let me know that it was a nut that had fallen off the linkage so should be good to go, glad it was something simple. They had to go by anyway for the keys and only took a minute or two to fix!
