First of all, I'd like to thank everybody for all the posts on this topic. They were extremely helpful.

Now, here's a pic of my new flood lights on my new BX22.

Here's another close up. Note, there are no wires running down the outside of the ROPS. I know they say not to drill holes in the ROPS, but when I looked at mine closely, I noticed that: 1) on the left side, there's a serial number plate with FOUR rivets in it, and; 2) at the base of each side in the rear, there are 1/4" holes. Plus, after combing all the posts about ROPS lights, several people have run lights through the ROPS and even one had the lights installed this way by a dealer with a much heavier tractor. I'm much more concerned about the wires getting ripped away by tree branches if run on the outside, so I therefore fished them through the inside of the roll bar.

Here's another pic. The switch is mounted at the back side of the cupholder, so I could reach it when operating the backhoe. The hole through which I pulled the wires out of the ROPS is at the lower left corner of the pic.

Here's a pic of the wiring under the seat. Jim Becker's post on this installation has a great picture and explanantion of the wiring (thanks, Jim!). One neat thing I figured out on the lights was to use nylon washers between the mounts and ROPS so that the lights could be turned 180 degrees (for backhoe work, etc.) without having to loosen the hardware mounting them. Hope this info is useful to y'all!

Nice job! Looks very clean - and your thoughts about the ROPs drilling seem to make sense (although I'm no expert on the subject). I'm bookmarking this so that if I ever get up the courage to try it I have some reference material /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif...

Nice job, Jim.

Sadly, I have to re-do my lights as they got smacked really bad when I inadvertantly forgot to lower the ROPs before driving into the garage one night not long ago. I also had a problem with them getting out of whack from smacking tree limbs. The worst part is one of the lights isn't salvagable...the case was destroyed, including the mounts. Oh well...it's only money... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Based on your pics, I think I'm going to mount mine the same way as you did. Thanks for sharing!
