At a place I used to own, I had a D-6 Caterpillar dozer over top of my concrete septic tank several times with no problems.

Believe it or not, a Dozer with tracks put less pressure on a septic tank than a tractor/loader/backhoe with wheels.

I can agree with that. My folks' septic got caved in by a large 4wd Ford Industrial TLB. It was 2 feet down, and the hoe nearly fell to the bottom. Contractor had to pay for the pumping out of the mud, and a new precast lid. They were told EXACTLY where it was, and drove over it anyway. The septic guy complained that his truck was not designed to suck out mud and he wasn't going to get nearly all of it. As mentioned above, I am sure the TLB was all of the 7000#s.

As for another voice in the wind, L3010DT all over my lawn, and I don't know where the tank is. And haven't accidentally found out./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

The Ford TLB was probably double your estimate of 7000 lbs. We have a Deere 310C that is about 13000.

You are in a darn sight better place to know than I. I was pretty darn sure it was over the 7,000 mark. It fell through that septic tank like the lid was an upside down pie tin. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif
