Kobota BX2200
I just bought my BX2200 from Sound Tractor in Everett, WA. I got the FEL and a Grill Bumper, plus a 54" Deck Mower with Mulching Kit. Before buying I examined the NH TC21D and the JD 4100. I am comfortable that I got the best machine for my 5 acre hobby farm. I sure did learn a lot and put hundreds of miles on my old truck visiting dealers. One of the things that helped me decide was the Best-In-Class award for the BX2200 by TractorByNet and all the great postings by members of this forum.

congratulations, FarmerFrank
One thought though, why did you choose the 54" deck?

Congratulations on the purchase!

I have spent a fair amount of time in western WA - it's some of the most beautiful country in the US in my opinion. You'll put that 4wd to test with all the wet conditions you get in the winter!!

Congrats! You're going to love it - in fact, your wife may get jealous of the amount of time you spend with your tractor vs. her!

Hope you like it as much as I like mine. We have had a lot of rain here in north AL this year and it cuts through the tall grass with no problem. I'm still finding other uses for it on my 5 acres. Have fun!

I got the 54" deck for two reasons: 1. I have some tight areas through some fruit trees, and 2. A compromise to bring it in at the price I needed to get.

I got the Turf tires. It gets a little soft in some places and I am hoping that float will outweight traction needs. I am placing some fields into crops and may get some liquid filled Ag tires for this use. I will also have to see if the rain around here sets my wheels to spinning.

Last winter with the Ag's on my BX2200, I was amazed at how well they floated in the mud puddles I "kinda" made. Even high centered the tractor, but it just keep on going. I have the tires filled now also, which for me has improved the traction. I can now be a little more aggressive with the box blade, so it will be interesting next winter with the mud.
