I really like the BX2200, but I'm leaning towards the B7500 because of ground clearance. I have a 7 acre horse farm on flat land except for certain areas in between pastures and where the horses have worn ruts in the pastures. The soil is pretty sandy, but I'm concerned that I might be spending time pushing the belly mower out of the sand. I do plan to get a loader as well. Comments? Thanks.

The BX is a nice machine, but for my purposes one of the demerits was the ground clearance. A less-appreciated issue with ground clearance is how low you have to pull some things to stay below the CG. I haven't examined a BX up close, but I presume one of the issues is getting attachments that are "matched" to the relatively low position of the 3PH. If you have slopes to mow, the BX is often the better choice.

None-the-less, it is a very capable little tractor. The 6" (or so) of ground clearance isn't a real issue with "bumps", but maybe more with "holes". Do you have holes that exceed that (that are large enough to swallow a whole tire too)?

Also consider how much stuff you need to put in the FEL. Is the 500# (or so) of the BX enough? How high will you have to lift it?

Thanks. The loader will be used primarily for horse manure and snow removal (300ft driveway). A friend keeps telling me to buy as much tractor as I can. I'm just not sure the b7500 is $2,000 more tractor than the BX.

Oh, I'm pretty sure it is, maybe more so than a B2410 is $2,000 more than a B7500. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Take a look at the comparison here B Series comparison to see all the differences. I've heard this before, and am convinced that all the people that have stated that haven't really added it all up.

Here are a couple of the more notable items:

1 - More HP (actually about 20% more HP on an apples to apples basis)
2 - More torque: about 10% more
3 - More cooling capacity (same as the B2410, but with a smaller engine)
4 - 12% larger frame (much heavier than the specs indicate because the weights are calculated differently)
5 - 6" more ground clearance
6 - Smaller turning radius (if using differential braking)
7 - 30% more hydraulic capacity (BX splits hydraulics between implements & PS, B7500 has a second pump (3+ gpm) for steering)
8 - Two speed rear PTO
9 - 55% more lifting capacity on 3PH (measured 24" back)

I have come to respect the knowledge of Glueguy and of course you guys know I do not fully agree with him but more so in agreement than you may think.
--after using the 7500 and the BX I can assure you the BX is more manuverble , actually, quite a bit more so in real situations and is far more stable on slopes.
---the ground clearance is an issue for in the rough use but not as much so as you may think.
---if it (7500) is 2000 dollars more tractor it is barely so.
---- the weight is according to my sources figured the same--bare weight with standard tires--like all 'botas.
---overheating under heavy use in 100 degree plus weather we had last summer was not a problem.

All that said, you might like the 7500 better for your described use and thanks Glueguy for the pic of your EZE--nice shot, beautiful machine. J
