It was a long day. we hit gravel clay and last but not least sand. Tooth bar came just in time monday. And I'm here to tell you it makes a world of difference. We had a sand and gravel mix, stone from golf ball size to grapefruit . The TB works wonders. I can't believe the kubota worked as well as it did. We did decide to rent a bobcat and for the most part I stayed with him load for load. the hole is now something over 4.5 '. lookiing to finish at 5.5' or so. the Sand is the last challenge to over come, about 1' to remove. It packs a little but if you spin much loading backing up can be real hard. Found if I rock it once and get a little head start it goes better. Found I had a little advantage in the sand over the bobcat. His 5000lbs is not helping him my 2000lbs is. Everytime he turns he digs rutts. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif This is for sure more than I bargained for. but when we finish I will for sure know what a bx can do and can not do. I'll get pics later I'm wiped. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Here's a pic of my beast resting up after back-filling in a 60x12x6 hole. I had a lot of dead wood and had a friend bring his excavator over to dig the hole for it. Way too much to burn!
Had to spread about 20 yds after filling in the hole.....the 2200 came thru with flying colors. Now I have to figure what to plant on the sand for stabilization. I am thinking beach chairs and bikini-clad young ladies!

I see you have a weight box, I'm going to have to make one of those. Having the backblade hanging out the back gets in the way sometimes. The basement is dug now. took about three days. The sand turned out to be quite a challenge. Did end up parking the Kubota, once the skidsteer got things tore up enough. to rough to navagate. The kubota has got more guts than I ever thought it would. With the tooth bar on I could out rip the skid steer. The turf tires worked way better then I thought they would. But beach sand is really tough on it. I was sure something was going to break. final thought, alot more machine then it looks. As far as I'm concern it's all the machine I need. does way more than expected. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I agree, these beasts are really tough. When you think that some of the older much larger tractors had the same or less for horsepower then you can really appreciate what we have.

The weight box was a bit pricey but the pins line up and it doesn't hang way out. I have chunks of concrete in it but at any given time I use for carrying my chainsaw, chains, and whatever I think I might need. I think the box shows to add three hundred pounds for the 2200. I also use a piano dolly/furniture mover for moving and storing it. Sure helps when you go to hook it back up!
