BX2200 loader impressions

I found this list of material weights on Carvers web site. It doesn't take a lot of material to exceed the BX2200 rated capacity. I think the bucket holds around 6 cu ft.

Wood Chips...... 18 pounds per cu ft
Hay Bales ... 20 pounds per cu ft
Coal Ash ... 40-45 pounds per cu ft
Dry, loose dirt ... 76 pounds per cu ft
Wet, packed dirt ... 115 pounds per cu ft
Dry clay/gravel mix ... 100 pounds per cu ft
Wet clay/gravel mix ... 110 pounds per cu ft
Dry sand/gravel mix ... 90-120 pounds per cu ft
Wet sand/gravel mix ... 126 pounds per cu ft
Dry sand ... 90-105 pounds per cu ft
Wet sand ... 126 pounds per cu ft

Those "studs" you have access to must be way better than any "studs" I ever had cuz there is no way two guys with wheelbarrows could move dirt faster than a single BX--no way. They cannot possibly roll the loaded barrows as fast as the BX can travel either--I don't understand--oh well---each to their own madness--I have mine /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif.
Hey, my 2410 will not lift through a pile of rock or dirt either. I think that is completely normal. Even large tractors would have difficulty lifting through the pile.
Back to that wheelbarrow thing, I use to run marathons way back though a "stud" is probably not a description ever used for me (oh well) but I absolutely know I could never move dirt faster with a barrow than with my BX much less the 2410. Yeah, maybe back when I was still running the first few trips I could be zippy but what about after a few dozen and you look at the dirt pile and it looks bigger than when you started /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. No way.
There is a house a few down from mine with a dirt pile they have been moving by barrow for almost a year (he drinks to much beer and is lazy). I could move that pile, spread it and clean it up in 3 hours with either tractor--but I prefer watching them and their beer bellys jiggling as they push loaded barrows and slip and slide in the mud---good entertainment. I also liked it when they hooked some kind of plastic looking dump trailer from Home Depot to their Craftsman and attempted to use it to spread the dirt. It's wheels just spun. They are a very entertaining assortment. Neighbors are good for something after all. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif J
