BX 2200
Have just purchased a new BX2200 but haven't taken delivery of anything yet except the owner's manual.

In the pre-purchase discussion with my dealer he told me that the mid PTO and the rear PTO could not be operated simultaneously.

However, as I pour over the owner's manual for the second time I notice under the PTO section that both mid and rear PTOs can be operated simultaneously, since there is a selection for both on the PTO lever.

Is my dealer misinformed or will they actually both work at once.

Any help much appreciated.

I've never used both at the same time but my dealer and my manual assure me that they can both be used at the same time. When I asked what someone might ever be doing to use both concurrently he suggested perhaps the snowblower with a sander.

TomPh,

Welcome to TBN! You will find many BX owners here ... as far as your question goes, there are 3 settings on the BX PTO selector - mid, rear or mid+rear.

Your dealer is misinformed!

I use my BX with both PTOs running at the same time all the time--- one running the mower and the rear one running the customized drink blender. Makes mowing a lot more fun :)

Some owners of BX's use a rear bagger that runs off the rear PTO requiring use of both rear and mid PTO at the same time.

That sounds like a lot more common use than a snowblower with a sander. I thought the dealer was reaching pretty good with that one.

Regardless of what your dealer told you CAN operate the mid and rear PTO's on your BX one, the other or BOTH at the same time. I have done it so there! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif . J

The case is the same on the B7500. Both mid and rear PTO can be run at the same time when the PTO is put into 2nd gear. But this brings up a question which may or may not be the case on the BX2200. On the B7500 in order to put the PTO in second you have to loosen a bold and slide a plate that keeps you from putting it into second. Then the manual tells you to put it back when you are done. Does anybody have any idea why everyone who mows, which sounds like most people, would have to go through this hassle? Mine came delivered with the mower attached so I haven't taken a good look at it as it must be in the proper position. When this bracket it moved to allow 2nd PTO gear is it still possible to use 1st PTO gear? I would greatly appreciate it if someone could enlighten me to Kubota's reasoning on this one.

One more thing, I'm pretty sure it is not possible to run the mid PTO independently of the rear PTO. Second gear in my manual is the position you run both PTO's in at a higher RPM. First gear will run the rear PTO only and at a lower RPM.
