Ooops, I screwed up, was off by one hp in PTO hp between the BX1800 & 2200. Checked with the kubota.com and found that the BX1800 has 13.7 PTO hp and the BX2200 has 16.7 PTO hp. The BX1800 & 2200 are so evenly matched that if I wouldn't have gotten the BX1800 I would have gotten a B series tractor.
I bought a BX2200 in June with the front loader. I also have a 48" box scraper and a 42" tiller for it. I have about 26 hours on it and am very happy with the tractor. I too have the hood rattle at shutdown but some rubber blocks solved the problem. I just had a Curtis Cab installed and am very satisified with it. As for the PTO engagement, there is a definate detent in the slot to prevent accidental engagement. I have had no problems at all with the lowering speed adjustment. I got my recall notice for the fuel tank and had the dealer take care of that as well as the 3 point linkage. They knew of the service bulletin and the recall and I had no problem getting the work done. I just put a driveway in and dug out 1000 square feet of dirt and stone. The tractor handled it without any trouble at all. As far as I'm concerned, it is a great machine.
