Originally I was going to ask a "which one should I buy" question,... but I think I'm leaning Land Pride. The question I have now is, will it work.

I had narrowed it to these three as they are availble locally and I hoped they would all work on my BX2200.

New KK 60" - $190 - weight unknown
New Rhino 200 60" - $255 - 160lbs
Used Land Pride RB1560 - $250 - 240lbs

I decided that I am leaning toward the Land Pride. Even though it has a fair amount of rust, it seems that it is awfully heavy duty. Since I will be using it for snow (in the road salt) any of them will get rusty pretty quick. I also figure that the blade can be used as rear ballast (thus I can ditch the rear weights). Lastly the heavy weight should be useful in cutting in to the snow and ice.

So the question is,... is the Land Pride RB1560 too big for the BX2200? Can the BX lift it ok? Will it lift high enough?

Thanks!!!

Rogue,

I think the important question is will the BX2200 lift high enough.

For example, I have a KK 60 inch landscape rake, and while it works ok on the back of the BX, it can't be turned around without finding a place where it can overhang and spin without hitting the ground.

So...you might do well in considering those smaller implements that are designed for BX size tractors...

I would do that if I did not have a bigger tractor to put those implements on...if they don't work well on the BX...nothing lost here...

I was thinking I had seen some users who had done this combo. RPM did for sure (saw it in a search) but he didn't say much about it on the post I saw and he doesn't accept PM's. If the BX won't lift the LP high enough... I'd love to know it now. So I should be able to swing the blade all the way around when it it lifted? Sounds like a function of the 60" rather than the build design and weight...

The problem seems to be that when the 3PH lifts the implement, it also [due to the nature of the beast] causes the implement to angle a bit.

This angle causes the tips of a wide item like a rear blade or rake to hit the ground when rotated, when the end is turned so it is near the back of the tractor [or maybe sooner, as is the case with my 60" rake on the bx2200].

If the 3ph lifts high enough, this is not an issue.

When using the back blade for snow, there are times I like to angle it different and times I like to reverse it. I am certain that I could not spin the back blade I have [60" KK] if it were on the back of my BX, but I can easily do that on the back of the B2910.

I guess a lot depends on the geometry of the blade you end up buying. With the KK in order to have the blade at the same position [when I change the angle], with respect to the surface of my driveway, I have to adjust the tip link so the pivot point is sitting vertical when the blade is touching the ground. Otherwise when I angle the blade the tips will vary in elevation, with one going higher and one lower. Extending the top link to make this pivot point vertical also decreases the amount of lift I get with the 3ph arms all the way up...My cheap blade does not have a tilt adjustment...maybe that would help...don't know.

Sometimes you may want to push backwards and sometimes pull forwards...at least I do with snow. I have only used my rear blade for snow, as the box blade is used for dirt. To me it would be frustrating to have to struggle to turn the blade around, or worse to not be able to do it without finding a dip or hump in the ground, or a bank to hang it over before swinging it around.

Just a few more thoughts...hope they are worth something /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Lifting the Landpride high enough should not be a problem if ... you have drilled new hole in the lift arms which raises the 3PH arms hgher. It is a rather simple mod that makes a significant difference in height that the rear implements can be raised.

Rogue,

I've got a Woods RB60 that I have used on my BX. I can swing it around while attached and it's the perfect size for the BX, however, the ground clearance is a problem if you are faced with uneven terrain. I bought the blade before the new subcompact implements were out. I bought a B2910 to match the BX earlier this year so now it's a moot point for me, but I would seriously look at the BX sized blade. I've looked at the new Woods Estate line and the Woods quality is still there. The Woods RBC60 has a shorter moldboard with a slight change to the geometry. Last time I visited my dealer, he had a RBC60 blade mounted on a BX, perfect fit if you ask me.
