We got about 16 - 18'' after all was said and done. Yesterday morning I was using the BX and FEL to move snow. When you first enter the driveway the left hand side drops off suddenly. I push a lot of snow over that edge and it falls down the embankment conveniently out of the way.
I had plowed twice on Saturday so there was a pile of snow there already on Sunday morning. Well I drove the BX maybe 6 inches farther than I should have. My right front tire was no longer on earth but was resting on the snow filling the embankment. The BX tilted just enough to bring the left rear tire up off the drive. So only the right rear had any traction.
The FEL was no help as I only had a pile of snow to push against. The dif. lock also was no use.

So I got my Dakota 4x4 and hooked a chain to the bumper and to the rear of the BX. After much discussion my wife chose to be on the tractor while I pulled in the truck. (She later told me that falling down the embankment was preferable to using the truck and possibly damaging my beloved BX /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif )

Well the truck pulled it out in 5 seconds and I was able to continue clearing snow.

I did learn two things. 1) watch out for that embankment.
2) For the long straight stretch of the drive the walk behind snowblower is more efficient than the FEL for snow removal.

I believe that is what they make driveway markers for...... I did the same thing with my plow truck, but lucky for me, I was able to get enough traction to back out..... There have been times that I haven't but I have gotten better about knowing the dangerous spots and the driveway is paved now and that makes a big difference.

I have the markers - but they are for the plow guy so he doesn't fall over the embankment, tear up the turf or knock over garden walls. But since he has done the latter two I figured I would almost do the first one.

Still feel stupid about it but in the end no harm done.
