I need to know from all the bx'ers here what the turning radius is for this tractor. The lit. says 90". How do they get that spec? What about at the 60" or 54" deck? how does it do around trees etc. I will have about 100 trees to mow around. They should be mulched, especially if I get a FEL. The lot is 2.8 acres, flat ex corn field, new house to be built in spring if everything goes well. Thinking of a BX for landscaping, putting in lawn, mowing, mulch, stone etc, almost forgot snow, haven't had any yet! Has anyone ever tried to lift a full bucket and not been able to? I would expect it to lift full buckets of landscape stone like Mississippi river rock etc. Can it? I ran a 2410 with a LA302 that had no problem, I know its rated higher than BX.

Thank you for any input, someday I may bow before 3 crows.

Hopeful, I am hopeful that I will soon have another convert--I may need all of you to keep the list master from throwing me to the coyotes /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif--probably just kidding or maybe they will all gang up and vote me off (like that Andy guy on Sat Night Live) but then what fun would they have?
Anyways, the answer to your question has been in several threads here at TBN. I forget the measurement I took for my BX exactly but it is about 30 inches (it could be a bit more) inner uncut circle with the 60 inch deck, slightly more with the 54. The 90 inches is the outside of the uncut circle. You will find the BX is very nimble (whatever the exact number is) and will get around your trees if you mulch out a reasonable distance from them--trust me or better yet I am sure a dealer will let you spin one about. Be sure to not have 4WD engaged--the turning radius will increase. There is no reason to mow under normal condition in 4WD especially since you also have a pedal activated differential lock. The 4WD is most useful with the FEL, blades, snow, soft ground or hills. The BX really is quite manuverable for a machine of it's size and capability--you will be pleased I expect when you try it for yourself.
I appointed myself to high priest/cult leader when we were few but now that there are so many perhaps there should be an election--I really do not require bowing --just a daily dose of orange Koolaid and a purchase of a BX will please me just fine.

In two wheel drive, the uncut area with the 60" MMM is 31". I measured. With the 54" I'm sure it's larger than that, as it is in 4 wheel drive. The machine is truly a dream and sounds to me like it's the appropriate size for your lot. As far as lifting cap of the FEL, I've had overflowing buckets of wet clay and berm stone, and while the back end got light, I had no problem lifting them. (Hanging a woods box blade on the back fixed that problem). Also, because of it's low center of gravity, it's great on slopes too.

I mow aproximatly 4 acres in 3 hours with my BX2200. I mow around aproximatly 100 trees and landscape plots on a 15 deg. slope in those three hours and I believe there is not a more nimble machine out there for the price. As far as the FEL, I moved 40 tons of 1" dia river rock (mulch) this summer in heaping buckets. You will be pleased with the BX.

hopeful: can't really tell u much about the turning radius of bx, but my 2400 turns much faster that the old ford 2n. am sure the high priest gave u good info. as for fel lifting ful bucket, i found that my 2400 will lift just about any trype of dirt or stone i put in it, the trick is(and it took me awhile to figure out) when u go into a pile from the bottom and it won't lift , it is because i was trying to lift the bucket full + everthing that was on top of it. have read many post on bx and do beleive most are very happy with them I.E TRESCROWS

TractorTim,

I am not sure of the degree of slope, but I purchased a BX-2200 for my 3.6 acre lot that is inclined. Here is a pic of the lot.

I guess not being able to have the tractor to the lot till spring is making me anxious /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif. I just keep wondering, should I get front weights? Load the Back Tires? I guess I would just like to hear you experience on the 15 degree slope. Please share.

James,

Nice lot! Should be able to go up, down and across with no promblems. Parts of my lot push 22 degrees and I mow across it without weights (60" MMM only). Just take it slow until you get used to it.

I recommend a tilt meter to help keep it on all fours.

Good Luck!

TractorTim,

Thank you for the information. I am glad to hear that the tractor can handle such an incline. That is one of the main reasons I selected the BX over a bigger tractor; however, I am just curious to find out what people are really doing with his/her toy (errr....machine/tool) since I haven't been able to use/play on my tractor.

I have requested a brochure from R&B, there have been a lot of good things said about them. They also seem to care about their customers from what I have gathered here on TBN. So, I am sure I will be ordering a tilt meter from them.

Thanks again,

oombala,

There is a nice buck that is running out there. I have also seen about 4 females with him. Wouldn't mind getting a bow out there to see what I could do.
