BX2200 vibration when shut down...

Hi,

Just curious. My guess it that it is normal for the BX2200 to vibrate hard enough to rattle the hood and MMM when you turn the engine off at near idle, right?

My B2910 shuts down real smooth compared to the BX.

The period of time is about 2 seconds, after the key is turned to the off position.

The B2910 has four cylinders, the bx only three...maybe that makes a difference. The bx runs real smooth at all speeds above idle.

The dealer doesn't have another one I can check out...and if I ask I'm sure I will be told "they all do that..."

Do they?

If it's any consolation, mine does the same thing. Been doin' it since new. 2 years old now and still a shakin!

I just cracked 13 hours on my new BX2200 and at first I was concerned about all the shaking when turning it off. I called the dealer and they reassured me that diesels are like that. They told me they are not smooth when shutting down like a gas engine. My actually shakes me while setting in seat. My friend who has a large farm told me to run the engine when mowing at a fairly fast pace. He said diesels are meant to run hard and by not having the throttle up it is actually worse. My mower runs better when I have it reved up. Also I am finally getting used to the loud whine from the hydrostat and power steering. My uncles B2410 is just as loud and rough when shutting down so I feel better.

Thanks guys,

I thought it was probably normal...just that my b2910 is much smoother on shut down...that is what got me thinking about it.

Guess the extra cylinder makes the difference...
