Mowing BX2200-W/WOOD RD6000 REAR FINISH MOWER

I have to agree with the posts above. I have the 60" MMM and have tried my neighbors 60" RFM (not sure what brand).

With the MMM, the tractor manuevers just like a garden tractor, but much faster (and god bless that power steering). With the RFM I also had to constantly turn my head around to see where the deck was headed...I don't have to with the MMM.

I'm a soon to be new owner of a BX2200 myself! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Should get it delivered in a couple of weeks. I've certainly been reading this forum for a lot of great tips and info! I'm getting the fel, 60'mmm and a 3.5'howse bush hog. I don't know about your rear finish mower, but I am sure hoping my bush hog will be a good counterbalance for the fel....???...Anyway, I look forward to hitting all of you listers up alot as I get into this....

Thanks,

Thanks guys for all your help. I went to the dealer this afternoon and decided to go with the 60"MMM. I feel better now about this. The tractor is in, also the box blade and MMM, but am waiting on the FEL from Kubota and hopefully it will be here by Friday 04/11/03., so maybe by next Monday 04/14 I will have it. I will report on it when that happens.
tnks

Krecker,
Congrats on the new machine!
FYI, just so you know easy it is to dismount the MMM:

You're done!
Takes just a couple of minutes.
I did this a few times trying to get the deck checked out and levelled. Once you do it a couple of times you can do it very quickly.

You will need to resize your photo. You probably have some type of photo editing program on your comp that will do it for you. Just remember to "save as" on the downsized photo if you want to keep the original photo as is. If you do not have a photo editing program, you can get a good free program called Irfanview. Just search for it in Google. Good luck.

Woodenhorse--

While your 'hog will certainly have enough weight to counter balance the FEL, it might not be a practical solution since it sticks out a long way behind your tractor. I have no doubt you'll opt for some form of rear weight, either something you make or a smaller, yet heavy implement. Having the FEL does you no good if you can't fit the machine into the space you need to maneuver!

Jim,

I appreciate the advice! Probably will, but for now the hog will be sufficient - first thing I am going to use the fel for is to haul and spread 3 truckloads of sand gravel to my "barn" - which is 20X40 with 4 stalls - all of which my wife is trying to occupy! I built it for this machine and a couple of other things, but my wife is a packrat and sees the barn as "opportunity"! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif At any rate, it is on uneven ground which I am trying to level out by raising, then once the sandgravel settles, I'll concrete it and put a garage door on it......this machine will earn it's keep, as I have about 7 acres to mow and another 12 to slowly semi-clear. I've been eyeballing the comments on a belly protector, might have to look into that! Like I said before, I will be hitting ya'll up for info alot. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks,

You might want to invest in a toothbar for your FEL if you are going to be working with a lot of "un-excavated" soil. It will really help cut into that stuff. It's on my list for aquisition next month... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
