I have a 2001 BX200 with 60 inch mower & loader. Can someone give me an idea what it should sell for? It has 144 hours & is in excellent condition. I'm in lower Michigan.

Dan; I am no expert, but IMHO you are going to take a hit on that tractor. New set-ups similar to yours are not anymore expensive than you (and I) paid for ours. I would try to get $10,000, but that might be tough, with new machines in the $12,000-$13,000 range.

Just looked at one in Southern Oregon, 2002 model, 200 hours, not a scratch on it, mid mount mower, loader and rear blade, $8500. It was on a dealers lot who took it in trade for a bigger tractor.

Dan, I looked at a 2 YR old BX2200, and the guy was asking almost what I could buy new for. Plus I could finance it cheaper via Kubota. Plus the new had more warrantee. I think you'd have to find the right person to sell to to get a decent price.

Sorry, but I think that's the reality. I keep hoping I don't need to sell mine, as I feel I'd be in the same boat as you.

Best wishes,
Ron

I would say that you should expect to cost out the hours at $25 per hour for a $3600 deduction and then figure that there is the value of the warranty... say $1000..... round that off to $5000 less than the cost of a new machine and it should see quickly. If the difference is too great, a buyer will always go for new. Also, you can't expect to get as much as a dealer who will usually give a warranty on the machine to the buyer for a certain period of time. I would believe that a dealer would warranty it for 50 hours or 6 months, which ever comes first and that certainly will have a value for buying from a dealer vs. a private individual. If you find the guy that has limited funds and has to have that machine, then you will do better. It depends on the buyers financial situation in the end.

Have you come up with a price for yours yet? I assume you would be a bit more aggresive on price since it sounds like you want to sell it quickly... I know you've got the Jima and/or Power Trac waiting in the wings.

I believe that I have a buyer for mine. He is coming to look at it this weekend. I will do some touch up painting on the bottom of the bucket and a quick spray of the black paint on the hoe bucket and it should look 95%. I don't want it to look like I reconditioned it for resale, but I also don't want it to look like it has been around the world. Considering that it has all the Kubota options, who ever gets it is going to be saving a lot of $$$ vs. a new one. The best part is that they won't have to deal with that new seat switch. I think that would turn off any new buyer of a BX tractor. I knocked 6 grand off the original cost and the guy is really happy with the price. His bottom line is $9500 for a 2003 BX22 with just a shade over 50 hours, Toothbar, flip over pads, HD alternator, bar & turf tires filled with beet juice, tilt meter, rear weigh box, etc. A lot hinges on the deal that I can make also, and I have explained that to him also. We are both on the same page, so to speak. I also have a few Bolens HT20's to get rid of this spring.
