Was tired of having the snow bowing in my face along my 1,200 foot uphill driveway and another 600 feet of driveway between the house and the garage.
I should have no problems dealing with the considerable drifting that we get too.

Debated the expense of the hard side vs. soft side... But, I figured what the heck.

Options added: The heater and the electric rotator chute. ($300 ouch) Did not get the deflector as I can get out to do that.

All I need now is some snow !!

Ken

Ken,

Looks great!! nothing like a cab when snowblowing. I added the deflector motor on the chute, got it for $65 from e-bay, here is an example.

Here is a thread on how the Kubota one looks, I mounted it the same way with some bolts and washers, works great, something you think you do not need until you use it the 1st time and wonder how you did without it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Are you going to leave the cab on all summer? I remove my Sims cab for the summer, takes about 10 mins to remove and 20 mins to add back on. I also have a heater, that stays with the tractor.

Ken,

Old thread, but hope you're still here and reading this. I'm in the same boat, BX2230 and B2750, and no cab. So it's either a new tractor with cab or add one.

After your extensive road test, how has the Curtis held up? Are you still happy with it? What options did you get besides the heater? Any other advice appreciated.

thanks much,

I had a Bx2200 for about 11 years and last year I replaced it with a BX 25. Both have Curtis cabs. I like the newer cab better as there have been some improvements but both have served the purpose. I don't have experience with other brand cabs but I do have experience with no cab. Cab good...no cab bad! LOL. I have never removed my cab because it looks like a lot of work and I can't really see why I would want to. The doors come off and the rear curtain comes off for ventilation in the summer and the roof keeps the sun from beating down on my head. I have a heater which is adequate and the windshield wiper which is very handy. Compared to the cost for a new Kubota with a factory cab this is the much cheaper way to go assuming your winters are no harsher that New England. If the temps go below zero a lot you might want something more robust.

Ken,

Thanks for the quick response. I'm torn between spending a *LOT* of money on a new B2650 or B3350 w/hoe and front blower or doing a buff 'n fluff on my BX2230 which has no hoe (which I sorely miss having).

One bad thing about living out west is there a precious few cabbed tractors and not many used compact TLBs either. Oh, and I would like a dose of that "new tractor smell". Most importantly, wife has cleared me for the new one!

Then there's this nagging logic thing that says it makes more sense to upgrade what I have - - yuck.
