BX2230
Delivered Friday evening. Has 9.5 hours on it as of Sunday night. 2230, 60mmm, FEL.

WHat I have learned so far:

This is a great little tractor.
It will do just about anything you want, but slower and in smaller bites than a bigger tractor.
It needs rear weight.
Turfs spin even in 4wd.
The FEL makes it much longer and less manuverable.
It needs a wheel spinner, rear weight.

Thanks for all the help.

Congratulations on the new ORANGE tractor. I know that you will be able to get a lot done that you didn't even think about before buying it.

Yeah you'll love it!!! Have had my BX23 for about two weeks, don't know what I did before I got it. Got mine with Ag(isn't this the symbol for silver on the chart?) tires filled with windshield washer fluid, I like the way they grip and if I take it slow on turns they don't chew up the lawn.
Have fun with your Orange Iron.

Take off the FEL when you are mowing...it's just gets in the way and potentially makes it less safe when any slopes are involved. And yes, using some form of rear weight is a good idea when you are using the FEL for anything more than mulch...it's just physics.

Turfs are not the best tires for serious FEL work, even with extra weight...they have little grip. The BX2200 I used to own had them and I always was frustrated with slippage. My BX22 has the bar-turfs and they are a WORLD of difference in this respect. They also are kind to my lawn and I have little or no marking when mowing unless I operate after a very heavy rain. Using 4wd is also what you want when using the FEL; 2wd when mowing unless you are in a spot where the added traction is necessary for functionality or safety.

Enjoy your new tractor!

I've had my bx2230 since last Jan. I have Used the FEL and backblade to clear my drive of snow, and the FEL for mulch, rocks, 10 yards of dirt, re-did my lawn leveling with the backblade and mowed my new grass to perfection. This little giant is the greatest!! I know it was a lot of cash, but well worth it.

I have 72 hours on mine now and no problems what so ever. The 50hr service was no trouble(after a small problem with the o rings on the transmission filter).

You will be very happy with this machine. I love mine. Henro told me I would /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
