Price Check BX2230 Pricing

Tomorrow is the big day. I'm going to order my BX2230, but I kind of feel like i'm getting the short end of the stick on the price.

2230 w/bar tires - $9892

LA211 FEL - $2830

Gearmore BSL48 Box Scraper - $620

Grand Total after tax - $14325.97

I'm in Reno, NV so I know that our prices are a little bit higher due to geographical location. Do I have any bargaining room with the dealer or is this the price? They can't seem to keep any Kubota's on the lot so I know that the demand is pretty high. Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated!

I only wish that there was a factory sticker price on these tractors, so we could be able to compare apples to apples. Seems that the "list price" is all over the lot when the dealers give out this information. I was told that the dealers have a 25% mark up in the tractors. I don't know if this is before or after freight. I have never been able to find out if Kubota has a uniform freight price for all dealers or if it depends on your location.

Steel prices have driven the costs up some. What I paid a year ago really isn't the same anymore. I imagine a new quote would be higher today.
Did you shop around? You don't really mention HOW you got to this point.

BX2230 - $8399 - no list price given
FEL - $2399 -list price $2810
60 deck - $1499 - list price $1569
bagger/blower - $1600 - list price $1900
Canopy - $385- list price $410
Grill guard - $120 - list price $175

It must be the geography issue. Time to travel and transport costs can kill the savings anyway if you have to travel a distance to get a better deal.

The delivery from Albany, NY to Middleboro, MA was $575 (about 440 miles round trip). This dealer beat the three dealers in my area (all within 60 miles) by $3000 including the delivery charge. I just got lucky and it worked out for me. As a matter of fact, the sales tax in MA would have cost me more than the delivery charge so I saved there as well.

In MA, it is a sales and use tax, and you are still liable for that. When you file your 2005 MA tax return there is a line for out of state purchases. You can skip it, but if you get caught, it will be an expensive lesson. If you financed the tractor, it will show up on the state records and they will be looking for the sales tax money.

I remember in VA I had a few walnut trees that we sold nuts from so we were a 'farm' for tax reasons and I never paid tax on tractors and such. Then again, in MA they will tax a dying mans last breath.
