I feel really glad and lucky to have my new little workhorse.
I had the luxury of spending the day at home today. I had been subpoenaed to be a witness in a trial and was waiting to be called, they didn't get around to me. Oh well, took the suit off at about 10 and went out into the yard with the tractor. planted two pine trees, cleared five or six large piles of dead and recently cut trees, and finished leveling a walking trail (so my tractor could easily navigate it), and started clearing out another trail. My back is killing me, but I feel very satisfied.
Every once in a while, as the tractor sat idling while I loaded up another set of trees to pull down to the fire pile, I'd look over at the complicated (to me) mass of orange metal, and think to myself, its been a long time since I've been so pleased with a purchase, to own such a useful thing that just seems to work very well (except for the $#^&!#$@ seatbelt). I was afraid I'd be having buyer's remorse. Its a lot of money for something I had never before thought I needed. Now that I have it, and can look in any direction from my front door and see the changes I've already made using the tractor, I can't help but feel so glad I finally did the research and made the decision to buy this machine. I've had it for a little less than three weeks and I've put nearly half as many hours as I put on my JD all of last year.
I am also glad I have a wife who said, when she saw it, "I was wrong, we do need something like this for our yard, we should have bought this last year." And, she said, "You might as well get the Loader now, or you'll just regret it later."
Am I lucky, or what?
