Does anyone have the idle speed and max RPM spec for a BX2230.

I just put a diesel Tiny Tach on the liitle woman's machine. It is reading around 1300 - 1320 at idle and max throttle was 3990 I think.

In the manual it says RPM range - 3200. They don't even mention idle and I assume the RPM range is the same as the max RPM. If this is the case then my max engine speed needs adjusted.

On MY green tractor there is a simple adjustment to set max RPM and idle. It also comes with a tach. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif I haven't looked at the setup on the orange one yet as far as the adjustment.

Don't get me wrong the BX2230 is a fine little machine! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Any how I also want to verify the accuracy of the reading.
Any info is appreciated.

Mine idles around 1230 RPMs and I believe my full throttle is around 3260.

JWE,

Are you using the Diesel Tiny Tach or something else?

my BX 22 idles at around 1280 to 1320 and full throttle is 3360 with no load as soon as you put a load on it drops to right on 3200. There are a couple of treads on this if you do a search for tiny tach go back one year.

The tinytach on my BX reads about the same as the other posters - yours certainly seems to be reading high.
Perhaps you should try repositioning the sensor.
Did you sand the paint off the fuel line before attaching the sensor?
Are you using the 6mm sensor?
You may need to return the tinytach and get another one.
Attached is a photo of where I attached the sensor on my BX.

Is the 6mm the right sensor for the BX? Where did you guys mount the display?

On a sidenote, a company named SenDec makes a nice round flush mount with factory programable service alarms but, unfortunantly, it doesn't work with diesels or more than 2 cylinders. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Yep, the 6mm is the right size, and I mounted the display just above the switches with velcro on the left side of the dash, I pulled out the switches and run the wires through and snapped the switches back in. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
