BX2230 vs. the new BX2350?

In my opinion their is no great advantage to the bx2350. Just a bunch of small improvemnts that make a general nicer machine. No major leap just small advances such as slightly increased power and lifting capacity, curved loader etc.

OK here goes. I went from a BX2230, which is a fantastic machine to a BX24, which in every way, is a far better tractor.
I'll start from the front and probably forget several items:
-Loader - Next generation design. Better lift capacities. Better visibility. protected hoses. Better removal/install.
-Headlights - now halogen. much brighter.
- Front axle dipstick/cap. now an o-ring plug. no more pressurized front axle. seems to vent where the old style would build up pressure.
- Motor - more HP. new airbox mount. alternator instead of mini generator.
- loader valve - frame mounted. linkage actuauted. much neater and ergo friendly.
- seating/ deck area - much larger and comfortable. treadle under deck. better seatbelt design.
- dash - larger guages. now has digital tach. better cruise control.
- 3 point hitch - 1/4 inching valve. much higher lift height for implements. improved fill/dipstick design for hydro.
- 12 volt acc. outlet.
- backhoe - better curved design. protected hoses. better mounting method. more legroom.
dislikes--------plastic............
Worth $700? to me yes! but you won't go wrong with the BX2230. I just decided I wanted a Backhoe and my dealer gave me a great deal on his first BX24 back in the winter.

I think the backhoe on the BX24 is REALLY what made that transition so much better...!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
But I agree...I would spend the extra $700 and get the newer machine, if for no other reason because I would know I would get it back on the other end, if I ever needed to sell the machine.

I am guessing you can do better than $700 cheaper on the 2230. I compared the same two machines back in March. My dealer had two 2230s left, and had just started to get in a few 2350s. He gave me $1,500 off on the 2230. Part of that was a $500 rebate directly from Kubota, if you went with their interest free financing, so the dealer actually gave me the 2230 for $1,000 less (plus Kubota's $500 rebate).
If the offer had only been a $ 700 difference, I think I would have gotten the 2350, if for no other reason than it is a newer model and will have higher resale value. I also went with the 2230 because the 2350s had just started coming off the line, and I wanted a model that had had the bugs worked out. That shouldn't be a problem now with the newer model.
