Hasbro,
You should come see for yourself. Try Lake stevens/Granite falls area. I'd be happy to show you a BX in action and what it has accomplished.

I'm happy with deal I got. Bought it down south from us. Are you working a deal with Sound Tractor? Their prices have dropped slightly in the past quarter.

There are many factors that go into how they come up with a list price. Bucket size, tire style, toothbar?, hooks, set up, delivery, and such. Any dealer can mix and match any or all of the factors to arrive at that balance between price and the service of a good dealer. so when you make price comparisons, measure apples to apples.

To be honest, I'm not fond of Sound Tractor. Down towards Puyallup or buckley area You will probably find better deals. Shoot me a PM if you want to set something up.

Digging a sizeable pond with a BX? You must have a lot of free time, a chain and have another tractor, or dozer or4X4 or wrecker.

Lots of info on the TBN about building a pond with tractors. There's a one great post about how much dirt has to be moved and the # of buckets of dirt the BX has to move...and then once the hole has started the water starts standing...hmm, mud... soft mud... REAL SOFT MUD and a tractor... they don't get along.

You may want to hire an excavator to do the digging and do the landscaping with the BX.

I'm not trying to be negative but enlightening on what is realistic.. I'd love to dig a pond with my B7500... I have a great place, I have a natural springs feeding it, but know I'd be stuck within hours. Maybe oneday I'll get an dozer and excavator dig the hole ... a STEEP hill keeps the B7500 away except ups and downs while hogging...

Put it this way. I've dug a pond with a friend that was about 15X50 with shovels. And I'm pretty darn sure that it won't take that long or that much energy. I'd guess it's all relative to how much one sees as a lot of time. if you've always done everything with handtools, time isn't your biggest concern, sweat and effort is. I don't have any ground water at the depth of the pond, so I'm not worried about water filling the hole. Besides, I don't plan on being in it. It's not going to be that deep. But I appreciate everybody's input, as I want to make sure I make the right choice. I don't plan on buying another tractor for awhile.
