BX23 Fan Belt Replacment ... How?

Re: BX23 Fan Belt Replacment ... More information about the power twist fan belts

Not a BS design go out and see how many crawlers and older tractors have front mount pumps. It is a way of life in equipment that sometimes both ends of the engine are use for power take off. If you cannot figure how to operate and work on equipment then maybe you are in the wrong place. Kubota is not the first nor the last to have drives mounted on both ends of an engine. Have an International TD-9, Massey Ferguson MF35 with the same thing.

If you do not feal like taking the shaft off then get a Power Twist belt and put it on.

Hi,
I was wondering if you can provide any additional information about this... I went to the website you posted. I did not know which type of belt would work on my Kubota bx24.
Thanks for any additional information on how to order the correct one...and, if you don't mind, installation tips
I'm not particularly skilled, but do want to keep my Kubota bx24 running well.

Since there are 3 bolts attaching the CV joint to the front pulley on the engine, just remove those loosen up the alternator and slip it out, you do not need to get the Power Twist belt.

Re: BX23 Fan Belt Replacment ... More information about the power twist fan belts

I have a BX-25 and am assuming they are similar. However, you know what happens when you assume something. I have only tightened my fan belt so far. Removing the belt would be the same. I got to say, it's one of the biggest pains regarding maintenance. I remove the engine cowl first. Then I disconnect the hydraulic hoses for the bucket to access the area better. Be sure to relieve pressure from hoses first, by vigorously working the stick with the motor off. On my BX there are only 2 nuts to loosen. The one on the top bracket of the alternator. The second is right below it, facing rearward. They were both 12 mm. I would recommend that you use only a 6pt wrench on the lower nut. It is very tough to access and easy to shear the corners. When you get the 6pt wrench on it, you will have some meat to torque. Good luck.
