Sorry - Typo - Heading should read BX23 and BH not moving

The last time I used my Kubota BX23 everything was OK. When I went to use it today, the empty FEL struggled to move up and would not go down until I put the lever all the way forward to the float position. The BH won't move.

I looked for a sign of hose leaks and could not find any and the hydro stick was dry when I checked the level.

Any thoughts on what's' going on with the hydraulics ?

Is there another Trans-Hydraulic Fluid I can use besides Kubota ?
I have a Pep_Boys near by. The reason I'm asking is I don't have Kubota Trans-Hydraulic Fluid on hand and would have to order it from Jennings Online, which will take time. My first thought is to add to the Trans-Hydraulic Fluid until it appears on the stick to test if low fluid is the problem.

Thanks in advance.

Two things I can think of is a relief valve stuck open or dirty filter. If it was fine last time I doubt it is the filter.

Where can I find the relief valve and how does one unstick it.

Thanks

Some of those problems sound just like a hose not being connected properly.

Make sure your 3PH lever is in the neutral position. IF it's down or up it'll rob all your hydro power to the other implements......

I second that!
Your problems sound exactly like mine. I was all worried that I had a major problem and it turned out that the lever was just off of center.

Thanks - Does anyone know the answer to the Hydro Fluid part of the question.

I checked the hoses and I'm certain the 3 point wasn't moving when I checked the hoses. I've also never used the 3 point since I've owned this machine new from the dealer. I do realize the lever can accidentally be moved to make it run.

It won't be moving. Mine can be off center 1 inch and it will affect the fel operation. It akes about 3 or 4 inches off center for the 3ph to move.
I don't know where the hydraulic fluid went but I do know it is very hard for me to see the fluid on the stick. I have to have very brigh light to tell the relativley clear fluid level on the stick. I have more than once, at first glance, thought it was so low as to be off the stick.

My dealer said that john deere hydraulic fluid was fine to use in my 23 and I actually did the first change wiht it but changed it back to Sudt because of increased noise. They said it was the same as regular UDT

Thnaks Bernie - I will recheck. If fluid is low - can I add another brand of hydro instead of Kubota to top it off?

I was editing while you were replying see my post above.
I think most brands of hydraulic fluid would be ok to top off or a rented hydraulic implement would destroy a lot of tractors.
