Hello everyone. I've been reading the Kubota and other fourms for a while, and just decided to join. A couple of weeks ago we ordered a new BX22, and the salesman said that he thought he could have it for us in about a week, but that he would call in a day or two and let us know a more specific date. Two days later he called and said that if we wanted to wait another week, we could have a BX23.

The tractor arrived yesterday and I put about an hour on it just getting familiar with the controls. This morning I gave it a good warm-up, practiced with the BH for a while, and then cleared a bunch of moldy old hay out of the barn with the FEL. Five hours of seat time so far!

Great little tractor. I wish the manual was better -- I love the part where it tells me to warm the oil up to 30 degrees prior to operating the FEL, although there is no oil temperature gage. And the fact that the weekly check of the air cleaner evacuator valve is hidden under the 100 hour service heading! Oh, well...

Welcome, I have a BX22 and love it so sure you're going to love yours. Had mine about 5 months, 85 hours now and climbing. Look forward to pictures.

Congratulations on the new toy.... I am sure that you will enjoy yours as much as everyone here has enjoyed theirs...
Since you have been following the BX posts for a while and know about the BX22, you can tell us all about the differences in the BX23. Have only seen pictures and they haven't been very close up. Would love to see how they improved the lights and what the new dash looks like. Also is there any differences between the BX22 & BX23 other than cosmetic?
Inquiring minds want to know..... LOL......

I wish I could give a better answer regarding the BX22/23 differences, but I've never actually seen a BX22 except for pictures. (Can hardly believe I bought something that I had never seen -- all the dealer had in stock was two BX1500s.) The new seat is certainly nice and very comfortable. I pulled into the barn last night about sunset, and I have to say that the headlights really lit the place up.

The dash looks pretty much like what I remember on the 1500 -- turn signal, headlight and hazard switches, five "idiot" lights (left turn, glow plugs, oil, charge, and right turn), a temp gauge, fuel gauge, and hour meter. There was rumor of a cruise control, but I can confirm that there is none on the BX23. As someone already mentioned, the hydraulic valve stays on the tractor, not the FEL. (The operator's manual identifies the FEL as model LA210-1.)

The air cleaner bracket doesn't look like it will break anytime soon, so I am assuming that it has been upgraded.

I love the sound and smell of the little engine! I've been trying to run about 50% with the FEL and 75% with the BH, and have yet to hear it strain. Gonna go fill up a new, five-gallon yellow can today, and dump in some Power Service.

One other thing -- after five hours the transmission oil is just below the add mark, no doubt due to working the air out of the system. The dealer is sending one of his guys by our place today to top it up.

No implements yet -- everything will be Land Pride, and we are waiting for the new models. Getting a rotary cutter, PHD, BB, and tiller. Now maybe we can take some time to fix up the old 8N, which burns so much oil you can hardly stand to use it.

"Getting a rotary cutter, PHD, BB, and tiller."

Bill, those are the exact attachments I'm looking for to saddle on my "old model" BX22. Keep us posted on what ya come up with. Congrats on the new BX. You're gonna love it!

Well, looks like good dealer support so far. He showed up at 5:00 PM as promised, dumped in about 24 ounces of Super UDT, and left me with that bottle plus another full one in case I need to top up again. (Not looking forward to the first time I have to buy it -- $3.60 a bottle.) He spent a little time going over a few more "good things to know," then asked "How are the new headlights?" It was dark by then, so I fired it up for a demo. Very impressive -- lit up the whole yard.

My neighbor, who runs a truck patch, has already decided that he's going to need some help spreading gravel on his driveway /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif since he doesn't have a blade or loader for his Ford. I'm afraid that once I learn how to run the BH, I'll be the most popular guy in the neighborhood. (Fortunately, there are only three other families on our "block.")

I already know the feeling of "most popular guy" because less than a week after I got mine, my neighbor asked me to dig out his septic tank line so he could replace a section that had been clogged. His tank outlet baffle had fallen off and some floaters clogged the line to the leach field. I did the digging, but he did the dirty work!!!!! Even made him clean the tractor before I left..... not a job that I would look forward doing again.....

I dunno -- being popular can wear pretty thin after a while!
