My saw fits nicely on the floorboard of the backhoe. Of course you have to move it when you use the hoe. I have dumped the saw out on the ground by accident before when carrying it in the loader. Ok I have a idea, you make a big basket with handle that you can grab with the backhoe bucket then you can just drag it around with you and drop it when you need to use the backhoe. Kinda like the big bins they put sand/gravel in that the excavators drag around.

Bernie...I like it not just for the saw I bought today (the 455) but for the tractor I bought Thursday..Look at me, I still don't have the darn thing and I am looking to build for it!!!

I too am thinking of a BH in a few months possibly once I come out of shock from the tractor and the accessories, the wife said to buy it cash and that hurt. Today while at Northern Tool (10% off everything day!) I saw a cool accessory for the ATV but did not buy it, wonder if I can make one for the tractor. It's like an ATV gun scabbard but it is designed for the chainsaw blade. Not sure I like the idea of the saw pointing down, don't know what it would do to the carb and oil/fuel tanks but it's a good sounding idea.

Actually it brings me to a new post. My last welding project was a propane fired oven (looks like a school locker) so I can epoxy finish rifles and such about 1 year ago. It cost me over $200 is angle and 1/8in plate. How in the world do you boy's build these neat things and not break the bank. I think I can make a better chain saw bracket but at less than $34 ? I doubt it.

I make most of my stuff out of some 1 inch 18 guage square tubing that my neighbor got free and I mooch off of him. It is surprisingly strong stuff if you pay attention to structure. It was originally for making hospital beds. (I made part of my basket out of thicker stuff but most of it is the thin stuff) For other stuff I go to a fab shop in town and try to get short lengths. They usually look at my little pile and say "Oh how about x bucks" which is always much less than it would be for full lenth stuff..
Oh and congrats on the new tractor, I dont use the hoe a lot but when I do it's a lifesver
