BX23
Hi from the Newbie,

I am waiting on delivery of my new BX23 and am looking for trailer recommendations. This site provided lots of info and help in my buying decision and probably saved me $1500 by not buying the front blade for snow removal. I hope to use the FEL and a back blade. Thanks!

First, does anyone know the overall length and weight if the BX23 with FEL and BH attached?

I am looking for a trailer that could be towed by the BX for hauling firewood, small trees, mulch etc. and could also be used to haul the BX.

I have thought about a dump trailer like a Bri-Mar but have no clue on the price. This would be very useful for small amounts of gravel for driveway touch ups. But... if I could drag the gravel off with the FEL the dump would not be needed. It depends on cost. The other use could be for some fill dirt that is available for free if I haul it.

TIA for your advice and opinions.

Congratulations on your BX 23 purchase, I have BX 22 with 100 Hrs on it now, I had a relative build a trailer for mine to use for yard work. It's not big enough to haul the BX on but it's great for its intended purpose.
Please search for "completed bx trailer" in the Kubota owning/operating forum, search all post. if you would like to see my trailer. I'm very pleased with it's size and function.

I have several customers that are using 14' single axle landscape trailers with no problems and more then enough room to balance it.

Thanks all for the advice.

I think I will settle on an 16' or 18' tandem axle flat and use my old existing 4 X 8 behind the BX for firewood.

An 8' X 16' would let me haul a car if needed and give 4 wheel brakes. While this may be a little overkill for my motorcycle or the BX it certainly would do the job without concern. After all, when on the road it is not much different pulling the bigger trailer and is actually easier when backing.

While I still do not know the price of the dump bed, I am thinking it would be at least 1.5 times the cost. Right now I don't need to stress the bank account more than I need to. I did just buy a $16.5K tractor!

Phrede, I bought a 16 foot, tandem axle landscape trailer for my then B1750, now B7800. It is highway legal with dual axle brakes, sealed lights, break away brakes, etc. The dealer reinforced the rear gate, so it will take the tractor no problem. I've used it to move my tractor and some beehives. The low side rails are great for securing loads with ratcheting tie-downs. Cost me around $2,000 new last year.

They had dump beds at the lot. They were going for around $3,500 for the smaller size, if I remember correctly.

The BX22 is about 2500 lbs. with BH and FEL attached (tractor = 1500 lbs., BH = 600 lbs., and FEL = 400 lbs.).
