M B Tractor In Plaistow NH it was suppose to be $1329.00 but when I called they said they had it in stock and when I got there they found out it was still at the Fryburg Fair so they paid the fuel for driveing up there for nothing well worth it for me to go back a few days later

Hi Tom - thanks for the info. That helps me out quite a bit. I was thinking that since the BX blade itself is so expensive I might save a decent amount of money by using an ATV type blade, the BX Quick Hitch kit, and then make my welder earn it's keep to adapt the blade to the Quick Hitch. Gives me something to think about and a good winter project.

Jim.... I think that if you are going to adapt another blade to the Kubota quick hitch, the best thing to do is to purchase the mating parts that mount on the Kubota blade and weld them to your plow. That way, you will have a matched set that will hook up properly. The method of attaching to the quick hitch isn't that easily duplicated from what I have seen of it.. Junk..

I personally think by the time One adapts using original parts, You'd be better off buying the blade, After all the angling cylinder from Kubota lists over $250.00.

Hi - I am new here and am wondering if anyone has used a snowblower on a seashell driveway. Is it possible?

Can't see how it could be any different than on any other type of loose material surface. The good thing is that sea shells don't cause shear pins to break like a gravel and rock driveway. Where do you live that you would have a sea shell driveway and snow also? It will help to fill out your profile. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks - I just went and filled out my profile. I live in SW Mass, 5 miles inland from Buzzards Bay. From reading the posts it seems the trick here is to let the driveway get lightly covered with snow and then let that pack and freeze before plowing or blowing. Is that correct? My driveway is about 600 feet long so the big question is plow or blow?

I would only blow snow and wait till there is a frozen covering on it. Sea shells move easily when something digs into them.. Just pretend that they are egg shells and go slow.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

With a front mounted snowblower do you add weight on the rear 3 point for added weight thus more traction? If so, how much weight do you add? My driveway is flat and I am using bar tires on the BX.
Thanks
