bx23 trailer size

I got my bx23 this summer and have used it alot and was looking at dump trailers was wondering what length any one else was using 14' is getting a little long and i have to stay under 7,000 gtw fro my truck (trailer will probibly rated heavier though)

I am using a 6 x 12 and it works fine. Bought at Lowes for $999 2 years ago. It has a GVW of 3000 lbs, perfect for the BX22 or 23.

I also have a 12' trailer (dual axle, dual brakes, 5,000lb gross, 4,300lb net.) The BX "fits" but is tight; the FEL sits over the front lip and the BH has to be swung to one side to fully close the tailgate/ramp.

I would caution you on getting too "heavy" a trailer:
1. It will tempt you to overload your truck.
2. Too big a trailer will actually decrease the amount you can move. You need to keep in mind net load. Most steel 7k trailers weigh 1800-2200lbs which means you can tow an additional 4800-5200lbs. If you get a bigger trailer that additional tare weight eats into your capacity.

i was looking at a 5' by 14 bed to keep wiggle room front to rear (balance)and keep it narrow to limit load wt and to keep track close to my truck width. I haven't found one made that size yet and won't need it till late spring. I have built all my other utility trailers to date but I don't have access to shop any more.

I have a PJ 5 x 14 trailer (non-dump). It is well made and seems to work great for my BX2200.

I don't know if PJ makes dump trailer, but they are good from what I've seen.

They are out of TX, but I bought one in KS.
