Nice setup Skippy!

So when you say removeable, you mean the soft doors and you leave the rest on right? The reason I liked the Jodale was that there was a member on here with a rear steering front mount mower/blower who had one that just came on and off in one piece. Thought it would be kinda nice.

Did you get the heater for yours?

I unscrew 6 bolts, disconnect 3 electrical connections, unplug 2 hoses and raise the entire unit off the tractor. It takes me 2 hours to remove it. Next spring I will do a dolly to moves it around the shop.
I install an cab heater that purchase from Simms.

The overhead hoist makes it a 1 person job and is a lot safer then trying to lift it with a few guys or worse yet by yourself or with your wife ( do not ask how I know this:D ). Also the jig is very helpful.

Went I had looked in June for a cab, the OEM (Jodale) was $6500 CAD not installs and a Laurin was $5700. Install such cab involve few modifications to the BX.

Actually, those cabs are permanent mount like the B3030HSTC

O.K. So in post #2 of this thread, the first 2 photos are of a BX24 with a hard cab. If that cab is not removable, how do you operate the backhoe? The single swivel seat is inside the cab. The bh controls are outside the cab with no space for the operator to even stand, much less sit. I still cannot visualize how one would operate the bh???????

The B3030 has one seat for the tractor and the bh has its own seat outside. I just don't get this BX24 with hard cab and bh????? The only possibility I can see is that the top is hard, the glass is hard, but maybe the skirts at the bottom are semiflexible with the 4 sides being removable and the top staying in place????????

It is removable but takes a lot of time to do so. It is not design like the soft cabs, removable quit rapidly. The sales clerk at Laurin told me that there a back glass that open and hold by two cylinders. There is also a panel at the bottom that is removable so you can turn the seat around and does the BH stuff.

Here is there web site and a good view of their cab;

Thanks for the explanation Skippy. That seems like a lot of work to me, especially not having an ac. Too bad that to get a TLB cab with ac and the bh controls inside the tractor where the ac is, you have to go all the way up to something like a Case that costs multiple $100k.

Thanks to all who replied! Looks like after this discussion and comparing pics, I am most likely going to go with the SIMS cab or the Curtis soft sided one. I find it strange that the SIMS one is black rather than matching Kubota orange...

Who thought this would be such a hard decision...:D :D

I know that Laurin offers AC in all their cabs. But if you thing about ac and you want to remove the cab there are more money involve to unplug the compressor.

Yeah, if I had any money left of my tree in the backyard I would go with the Laurin but I think I will be going for a cheaper make because I am only using the cab 3-4 months max out of the year.

Now back to the money tree...Anyone know if Miracle Grow works on them? :cool:

I had a curtis soft cab on my B7500, it was a great value for the money and the heat was very strong. I think i paid $2500. that included heater, front work lights and installation. The lauren cabs are beautiful,but for that kind of money, you can get the factory cab.
