I also looked at the bota long and hard. I work for the state as a groundskeeper and they only buy deere. In my 15 years there, I've seen varying quality from Deere especially in the initial offering year of their products. Which turned me off to owning one personally.
In the end I chose a M. F. GC2300 as well.
