Stopped and started today twice in preparation of dragging the pasture. Third time stopped by turning key off while it was still rolling a bit. Now Will not restart. Every time I try and then stop, I hear a click about 15 seconds later. In the past I tried the trick of pulling back on the PTO lever to engage that switch but that is not working, and I had not even engage the PTO today.
Any suggestions.

I wonder if the speed control pedal might not be exactly centered. Does it crank and not start or will it not even turn over?

It does sound like the foot control needs to be rocked back and forth to find center as you shut it off while moving. Good luck.

The click later on is probably the shutoff solenoid. There's another thread here about "tractor won't shut off" that has good info, but it seems that the way these things are shut off is a relay triggers a solenoid that pulls a fuel lever and this starves the engine of fuel. The relay triggers for about 10 seconds, and on my 2230, you hear it click off several seconds after the engine has stopped.

As said above, try rocking pedal while trying to start.
