Having just migrated from a riding mower to a CUT, I have a few perfectly good implements I'd like to continue using. A 6" lawn sweeper and a fertilizer spreader. I've tried attaching them to the hitch. Problem is the tongue on the implements are short and the rear tires will interfere during turns. Also tried a horizontal drawbar across the 3 point hitch arms. They are too high so the implements aren't level. When I was growing up on the farm I remember using "swinging" draw bars on full size tractors that effectively lengthened the hitch. Something like this would clear the rear tires on my 2360. Anyone ever see anything like this for a BX?

Any other suggestions? Purchasing new implements is not an option at his time. The "BOSS" ain't letting me buy any more toys for a while.

Go on eBay, look up BX Hitch. Buy one of those for $99 and install a 2" drawbar without the ball. Right there you have a plave to pin your garden tractor attachments.

BXPanded.com also has a bolt-on hitch that you could buy and insert a 2" drawbar without a ball, too.

HANDI HITCH

The clevis can be removed and you have a hitch pin hole. I utilize this handi hitch for moving trailers, tow behind sprayer, and lawn sweeper. best thing -You can adjust hitch height with the three point. Works Great!

Are you referring to this item?
Reciever Hitch

If this it it, do I just leave the ball hitch off and use that for hooking up the implements? How large is the hole?

That's it. The Receiver Hitch does not require the 3 point hitch to be installed. Mounts with one pin in about 10 seconds. Does not have to be removed to mount the BH.
The "Drawbar" (not included) is a standard 2" square ball mount available in a variety of drops and rises from a variety of retailers such as Walmart, Sears, Tractor Supply... To use as a pin mount, just don't put on a ball. The ball mounts are availbale with a couple of differnt hole sizes.

Does your horizontal drawbar have holes in it? If so, then a z type almost anything metal would attach to bar and make the point of attachment for the implement lower and have the implement farther back from the tractor for turns.

Still new to this JohnThomas. What is a "z type almost anything metal"?

By the way, how's your new tractor working out?

My new tractor is fine of course because it's a BX. They are fine tractors with the occasional exception.:) Thanks for asking.
A piece of steel that comes straight back with a hole for mounting in the end to the bar, then drops straight down and then turns straight back with a hole in the end for a ball or whatever to attach to it. I have a reese hitch on my truck. The trailer attachment piece pushes into the reese hitch then drops down to trailer level then comes back with the ball on the end. It's like a straightened z. Tractor supply, Lowes, Home depot or any place that sells metal stuff should have something generic. A machine shop/welding shop could make you one for cheap and make it to your specs.
