BX2370 length with FEL

Yesterday me and my father went to our local dealer and we measured our model tractor with an FEL and 3 point hitch. With the FEL bucket flat on the ground and the 3 point hitch lowered all the way down, it measures out at about 11'. We have a 10' trailer and we are gonna back the tractor up onto it until the back tires are touching the front rail of it so the 3 point hitch is hanging over the front end of the trailer then we can put the bucket flat down onto the trailers loading floor.

It sounds like you have a single axle trailer. It's going to be hard to balance the tractor. Do you even know the weight rating of trailer and combined weight of bx and trailer? My educated guess is it's close or overloaded of its rating. Do you feel comfortable on the road like that?

Most 10 foot single axle trailers use a 3,500 pound rated axle. Subtract the weight of the trailer (800 - 900 pounds?) for the weight it can carry. The BX2370 without the FEL weighs about 1,400 - 1,500 pounds. The loader probably adds another 500 - 600 pounds. So, it will be close but probably within specs.

I'd also be concerned about braking. Most single axle 10 foot trailers don't have brakes of any sort. 3,500 pounds pushing on your truck when trying to stop increases stopping distance on any surface, and especially on any kind of gravel or other loose surface.

We haul the tractor with only the mowing deck on it now, but we drive the tractor on the trailer so most of the tractors weight is on the trailers axle. But if i back the tractor onto the trailer most of the weight will be transferred to the rear axle of the truck instead of the axle of the trailer.
