I got 20 hours before rotating the blades on the Woodmaxx, chipping roughly 50% dead material. The blades are double sided so they can be rotated once before sharpening. It was still processing material ok but started making strings instead of chips. It pulls a lot of air through the rotor and out the chute. The blades show no sign of overheating and there's only infrequently a hint of hot wood smell when chipping big dry material. I've not had the chute clog with needles when chipping big pine limbs.
