BX 24
Well, after lurking on this site for years ,I finally bought a BX24 w/mmm.I've had it about a 1 1/2 months, 32 hours on it so far. Here's my info.
BX24/ $15,600
MMM/ $1600
Those prices are without tax. Now here's what has gone wrong. Hose on backhoe leaking 1st day. Dealer gave me a new coupler, problem solved.Read a post about front end being low on fluid, sure enough mine was a quart low. Next problem , running the backhoe and left go of the dipper stick and the stick almost fell off. The bolt, nut was still laying on the inside. I removed the cover and spent about 15 minutes putting that "baby" back on. Could not see any thread locker on the bolt. Now for the fun one, stepped up on the tractor and about went thru.Fender broke where the floorboard bolts together. Missed the other posts about this problem when I was out of town.Dealer has it now and doesn't sound too thrilled about fixing it. Find out later in the week and will post it. Before I forget, I'd like to thank all you guys on this site, been reading this site for years and the info has been great.

Welcome aboard TBN!

Once you get the initial bugs out of the BX24, You'll be wondering how you ever did get anything done before!

Keep us posted....

I purchased my BX24 back in April and had the same experiences with the exception of the fender/floorboard breaking. After picking her up from the dealer they indicated everything was checked and good to go. He warned me to tighten the wheel lugs after a few hours of use. The paint chips away underneath the lug bolts and creates slop, so they need to be re-tightened.

I moved and leveled several cubic yards of dirt that weekend and put about 4 hours on the machine using the FEL and BB. That next day I began to dig out some pretty big stumps with the BH. While digging I left go of the right control lever and also fell down like yours. After removing the cover and inspecting what happened, I found that the nut had backed off and the swivel slipped off the stud. I refastened the nut with locktight and as well backed off the other nuts of both levers and added a film to them. I hope to never have that problem again. A 45 minute repair I had not expected on with a new machine.

After that weekend I was performing routine checks and I found the front end axle was about 1 quart low on fluid. Upon further inspection of checking all fluid levels I also found the transmission was about 2-1/2 quarts low. I called the dealer and they indicated that could be normal especially since I used the FEL ad BH for several hours and purged more air from the cylinders. That seems to be alot! After the fillup everything appears to be stablized. Sounds like Kubota is saving a bit of money by putting the minimum amount of fluids in at assembly.

My 50 service is scheduled for this weekend. HST noise a concern. Appears abnormal from all the rest of the threads. We'll see what she tells me when her blood hits the pan!

After reading my post I guess it did sound negative. The BX24 has been a good buy and I didn't want to give it up even to get the new fender. And yes Bird1968 , whenever money or wife permits I will be getting hold of you for a skidplate.

I finally got my BX24 back after a week and a half. Didn't waste any getting the mmm back on and putting it back to work. I did check the fluids and the FIX beforehand. Could not see any difference in the new fender that was put on. Dealer said to watch how I got on and off the tractor. In his talk with Kubota he thought they were coming out with something to support the floorboard better. Any hoot, they know about it and I'm back to rippin and tearin til they come up with a good fix.

Hey Gumbo,
I see you are just down the road a piece from me. Can I ask what dealer you bought from?

Thanks,
MIKE

Mike,
My dealer is Terry W. Kahle, located in Knox, PA. I might of paid a couple bucks more but wanted local dealer in case something like this happened. Can't complain about the choice.

They are, its not shipping yet. Its taking some time because the vender of the plastics has to build new molds for the thicker plastics. I was told the new parts would be on the production line before the end of the month and shipping to dealers shortly after.

Messick, it sure is nice having you around here, with your ear to the rails.
