Been awhile since I've posted anything, but I've been busy spreading 15 dumptruck loads of fill dirt in an effort to fill a gully, and level out an area that was previously unusable. The BX has shined throughout the process! I buried 80' of 18" plastic culvert, and although the loads of dirt did well...I could use a bit more (I bartered for all of it).
I did add to the implement stable, got a 6' landscape rake. It did a great job of dragging fallen limbs from the area above where I've filled, and also did a wonderful job smoothing out the fill dirt. I was able to back up a 45 degree slope (ala diff-lock), drag brush ect down the bank, and push it out of the way. Once I got the brush removed, I used the backhoe and fel to cut a terrace across the bank. Yeah...I've been having fun!
So far I've uncovered 4 yellow jacket nests during this project! No stings yet!
Being the type of person that needs to justify everything, I've kept a log of hours spent since my BX purchase. I divide those hours by 2, and multiply by average local hourly prices for such work. So far my tractor's monthly payments are a bargain! 57 hours, and I'll do the 50 hour service this weekend!
