BX24 Hydraulic connectors will not fasten

This has to be a simple answer. It has occurred 3x since I致e had this tractor. When reattaching the backhoe, there are 3 hydraulic hoses/connectors to fasten. I turn off the engine, unplug the short hose, and go to connect the 3 and they will not seat so the rings can snap tight. Oddly I can reconnect the male short hose to female receiver with no problem. I致e released all pressure from the bucket and jiggled the backhoe levers. The tractor is hot, the short connector is hot, and the backhoe is cold, don稚 know if that makes a difference. Any insight? Makes no sense to me. Thnx.

Ok...just now...the fasteners clicked right in. So I?m thinking it has something to do with heat/expansion. But I dunno...

Your right, it has to do with heat and expansion. Some people hit the ball inside the connector to release the pressure which works. I don't like hitting it with metal so one can get a small dowel or small wood topped screwdriver and tap it and I have even loosened the fitting before where the hyd hose connects to release pressure.

I like John Thomas' method of hitting the ball with a dowel or handle of a screwdriver, etc. The outer rim of the connector you are trying to mate with it should also work by just putting a little pressure on the ball -- no matter how you do it -- to release the pressure. I don't think one should be loosening the connector ion the line just to release pressure. To me that is asking for leaks and trouble where none existed before.

One thing I find very confusing and frustrating is that SOME connectors are "simply pull hard" to disconnect, some require release via the sleeve, etc. Unless you are constantly connecting and disconnecting who is going to remember which type it is ? Not necessarily obvious looking at it. Either the darn things should be standardized or else clearly labeled.

Seems to be fairly common across brands. Mine does it most of the time. Sometimes you can operate all of the levers and controls to relieve the pressure. Other times it takes the tap with a hammer method. I tossed a small dowel in the on board tool box and will be getting a soft faced hammer as well.
