Is the hydro fluid used in a late model 2006/2007 bx24 the UDT named product. Do you use standard or Super?

thanks

The manual specifies Kubota Super UDT. When my tractor was delivered, Mr. Messick said, "Oil, whatever, coolant, any brand, whatever, but for the HST, we strongly recommend that you use the Kubota branded fluid that they specify." I figure it's worth the cost even if it only might matter.

Can you mix Super and regular UDT???
In other words say my dealer did my 50 hour tune up with reg UDT, can I top off with Super UDT?

The fluids are compatable.

I was a little disappointed today when I called my dealer to get a price on Super UDT. They don't have it, they only use UDT.
But, but the manual calls for Super UDT for the BX24, I said.....hmmm they said, never use it :(
I think I know where NOT to get my tractor worked on under warranty. Funny part is the salesman stressed it was a good idea to use only Kubota products during the warranty period to avoid any question if there is a problem- then his own service department uses the wrong fluid:cool:

I put regular UDT in my BX24 at the 50 hour mark. I tried to buy the Super but the dealer in Oregon (great dealer highly rated but not mine, I was on a road trip) talked me out of it. They said that the super stuff is colder climates mainly. They said the main difference was that it would take longer to warm up in cold weather and that if I wasn't going to be using it at 20 degrees or so then I shouldn't need the super stuff.

All I have to go on is Kubota's manual which plainly shows on page 64 KUBOTA SUPER UDT FLUID
But then on page 65 it says "We recommend the use of KUBOTA SUPER UDT fluid for optimum protection and performance"
So is it recommended or required?

I also firmly believe in going with what the manufacturer recommends 99% of the time when it's something I'm not more educated in (which is typically the case). I wish this weren't the case though, since 5 gallons of hydro fluid at Sam's Club is like $27, and the 5 gallons of Super UDT I picked up was over $80! But, the extra $50+ in a $16,000 tractor is worth it for peace of mind.

I sort of figure the same thing about buying their fluid for the HST. It seems to be overpriced but then again a repair or replacement of a failed HST is probably even more ridiculously expensive. Now engine oil is another matter and I'll change it much more often than the HST fluid and I know I can go aftermarket and get a quality product there, not so sure about the SUDT or UDT:confused:
I don't know if the HST is comparable to the auto trans in cars/trucks or not as far as reliability, ie most cars/trucks fail the transmission long before the motor gives up....always has puzzled me why many engines far outlast the transmission they drive....something doesn't seem right there in the engineering.
